I scored

Finally, I actually made a goal in hockey. It has been a long dry spell.
I also crashed into the boards (with help) at full speed. Glad I wasn't head first or something.
:-)

We got flocked

It snowed last night. Less than an inch. Roads are just wet but the grass and trees are covered with a pretty blanket of fluffy white.
M got some lights on the deck railing just in time.
Still don't have a snow removal plan other than a shovel at this time.

G3 and Sherry visit

Grandpa G3 and Grandma Sherry stopped by for thanksgiving afternoon and stayed overnight and left around noon. M made a lot of tasty food. G3 and I put snowtires on the mitsubishi.
On a sad note, G3's old buddy Chief died of old age this week. He was 14 human years old.
M is decorating the our christmas tree at the moment.

Death to the cow

We are getting 1/4 of a cow (in dead form) next week. Now we will have something to put in our new freezer. MMMMmmmmm.... beef.

Mom & Dad visit

Mom & Dad came for the weekend for a combo birthday and thanksgiving visit.
Mom brought her new Brother Serger machine and learned to thread it and do some things.
Dad helped me celebrate my hillbilly heritage and put a Menards camo tarp over my old leaky shed for the winter. It actually looks better than the crummy remainders of the shingles that are on it.
He also showed off pictures of his cage attachment for his International 424 tractor bucket (Westendorf I believe). He can stand in it and be lifted (or launched) into the air and more safely trim trees or change light bulbs, etc.
They also got to attend my Cedar Brewing hockey game against the Gears where we won in a shootout in overtime. (I didn't participate in any of the point scoring).

New freezer and not so good headboard.

Got a new fridgidaire freezer at Sears (who just got bought by KMart). It is about 14 cu ft upright model. Still in the box, so dunno if it works.
Tried to buy a new headboard for the bed at Slumberland. Had goober on one of the parts so they were gonna fix it. The next day they hadn't touched it so the helper started sanding around on it then got out some spray paints and brushes to "try to match the grain" on a stained oak piece. Good luck.... Then found out the "oak" headboard was a thin veneer on particle board (not even plywood) and that the stain had been sprayed on and left to make drips on the underside of the parts where you could see dark sticky blobs.
They are now proud owners of a returned headboard. They assure me they will refund my mastercard.... oh yes, i bet they get right on that.

GMC back in service

Didn't clunk immediately but more testing is needed. I didn't run into anything though.
Yay i think.

GMC is back in the shop

The intermediate steering shaft finally came in off back order and it is getting replaced today. Maybe the clunking will stop.
What could go wrong?

Back from Sea-town

Back from the trip to Seattle. Probably will have more.
Gotta go see Willy tomorrow in Des Moines, then back to the exciting world of proofreading document conversions until I escape on Jan 1st.

In the mood

NOT.
Sorry, not in much of a mood to put cool stuff here lately. Gonna be in Seattle next week.
So hopefully will be more perky and interesting in a couple weeks.

GMC is back

The GMC is back. It appears to be fixed. The Driver Information Console is fully functional.

Gots me a Cadillac

I have a Cadillac CTS for a day or so until my GMC is fixed. Zoom zoom. Wonder how many tons of dirt it will haul compared to my GMC 2500HD?
